Read the price and billing columns together. An annual rate expressed per month is not the same as a monthly subscription. A bundle also needs a different comparison from an add-on. How to choose: ChatGPT vs Copilot vs Gemini vs Claude
Start with the purchasing decision, then test the work. ChatGPT Business and Claude Team list standard and Premium seat prices. Microsoft lists Business Standard and Business Premium bundles with Copilot, alongside an add-on for existing Microsoft 365 business customers. Gemini Enterprise lists Business, Standard and Plus editions. These structures help define a shortlist, but prices alone do not establish which option suits your team.
Use the same sample tasks to evaluate shortlisted plans. Decide what an acceptable answer looks like, who must review it and where the result will be used. Ask each provider to confirm the features, limits and controls included in the exact plan. Do not assume that similar seat prices mean similar entitlements. Choose against a written requirement, not a general label such as “best AI tool”.
Compare billing commitments, promotions and total cost
Separate the advertised monthly equivalent from the amount and timing of payment. ChatGPT Business and Claude Team list annual and monthly options. The Microsoft offers in this comparison are paid yearly, and their prices exclude tax. Gemini Enterprise rates are expressed per seat/month, but the billing commitment is unconfirmed. Check it before treating the rate as a cancellable monthly subscription.
The Copilot Business add-on promotion runs from 1 July to 31 December 2026 and applies to the first year. It is for existing Microsoft 365 business customers only. Compare the promotional period with the normal rate, not just the opening cost. Build a purchasing worksheet covering required seats, existing subscriptions, renewal terms, taxes and usage charges. Leave any unconfirmed item open until the provider confirms the relevant terms.
Gemini Enterprise is not Google Workspace with Gemini
A Gemini business price query can refer to Gemini Enterprise or Google Workspace with Gemini. Keep those names separate when requesting a quote. The USD figures in this comparison belong to Gemini Enterprise. Google Workspace with Gemini prices vary by country, so a local Workspace price should not be presented as a universal USD price.
Local Workspace prices are not converted into dollars here. A currency conversion would not establish the price available to a buyer in another country. Check the official Workspace pricing page for the relevant market and confirm the edition, billing terms and any introductory conditions. When comparing it with another subscription, identify what the purchase includes and whether it replaces an existing cost. Do not treat unlike packages as interchangeable simply because both mention Gemini.
AI assistant vs AI agent: what are you buying?
An assistant-style workflow centres on a person asking for help and reviewing the output. An agent-style workflow centres on a defined task, the actions needed to complete it and the permissions required. Use this distinction to decide whether your business needs better answers or work carried out in its systems. It is not a capability rating for the subscriptions above.
Write down where human involvement should remain. A draft may need approval before publication. A change to a business record may need review before it is saved. What to check before buying business AI seats
Use the same procurement checklist for every shortlisted plan. Ask how business data is handled and whether it is used for model training. Request the applicable terms rather than relying on a general product statement. Confirm which administrative controls belong to the quoted plan, who can manage access and how departing staff are removed. Verify these details rather than assuming every option includes them.
Check the commercial details too. Confirm minimum seats, seat reassignment, cancellation terms and whether taxes are included. ChatGPT Business has a minimum of 2 users. Microsoft prices here exclude tax. Claude Enterprise combines a seat charge with usage at API rates. Ask how usage is measured and controlled before approving that model. Keep the provider’s written answers with the quote so the purchasing decision can be checked later.
